1. Why did LinksManager file for Patent?

LinksManager filed for a software method patent in June, 2000 to protect the unique proprietary software method that drives the LinksManager system.

Since the year of 2000 when the patent was applied for, over 100 services have attemped to duplicate the LinksManager system. The patent application is designed to protect LinksManager's intellectual property from blantant copies of the LinksManager method.

2. What type of patent did LinksManager file for?

LinksManager's patent is a "software method patent".

A software method patent usually combines software with business methodology and is commonly referred to as a business method patent or Internet patent.
