- 2. What are swap permissions and how do I set them?
|
Swap permissions allow you to control/filter the types of websites that can automatically request a link swap from you using their LinkPartners controls.
To set your link swap preferences, click on LinkPartners Swap Permission found under the LinkPartners controls set in the left navigation menu.
Please note that the swap permissions controls only affect requests coming from sites powered by LinksManager. Any webmaster can visit your site, click your contact form or email address, and request a link swap from you via email.

- 3. How do I swap links with other sites using LinkPartners?
|
Using the provided search controls, search for link partners by keyword(s) of by category. LinksManager will then return a list of websites that would potentially swap links with you from the LinkPartners database. Click on “Request Swap” to left of the link that you would like to swap links with. Categorize THEIR link into one of the categories on YOUR website and (if available) suggest a category for YOUR link to be placed in on THEIR website. Finally, click on “Add Link”
LinksManager will automatically add THEIR link to YOUR link pages and will then add YOUR link to THEIR Pending link list to await approval. Additionally, an email is sent out in your behalf informing the webmaster that you have added his or her link to your links pages and requesting that your link be approved and added to his website. Once the webmaster approves your link, the swap is complete.
Keep in mind that LinksManager is editor based and not all webmasters will want to link to your site. If you keep your linking relevant to what is most of interest to your end user, you will find that improves your success in getting quality, relevant links.

- 6. How do I avoid adding duplicate links to my account when finding and adding links using the LinkPartners controls?

- 9. How can I send links that I added through LinkPartners another email reminding them to reciprocate?
|
Webmasters whose link you have added through LinkPartners.com are initially sent one (1) email on your behalf to request the links swap. Only one email is sent.
Links added to your account from LinkPartners.com have hidden email addresses until they agree to reciprocate. When you initially added them to your account, they were sent notifications emails by our system, on your behalf. Only one email is sent to LinkPartners webmasters and they are told that no reminder emails will be sent.
LinkPartners.com is now sending out a Master Reminder Mailer/Newsletter every 10 days to all webmasters listed in LinkPartners.com who have pending link swap requests. This mailer is sent to webmasters who are not reciprocating or who have not responded to requests to swap links from LinksManager users like you. The mailer reminds webmasters to reciprocate link swaps intiated by you and other LinksManager customers. This master mailer allows us to control contact so that abuse does not occur and all parties are satisfied.

- 11. Can I edit the mailers that are sent when I request link swaps at LinkPartners.com?
|
Not at this time. The mailers are "hard coded" into the system. We currently do not allow the mailer to be modified in order to protect against abuse. The mailers are intended to provide the first communication between webmasters. The mailers use your reply to address, so if replied to, mail comes directly to you, not back to Linkpartners.
There are two mailers: The first mailer below is sent to sites that are powered by LinksManager. The second mailer is sent to sites that are not powered by LinksManager. The text of the mailers is below.
NOTE: The variables in red below are replaced with actual data from your account and the respective data provided by the webmaster when he added his listing.

- 13. Why is there no category drop down select box when requesting links from some sites listed in LinkPartners.com?
|
LinkPartners is a free directory for LinksManager users as well as non LinksManager users.
If you are requesting a link exchange with a site at LinkPartners who is NOT a LinksManager user, there will be no category drop-down menu as that is a feature specific to sites that are using LinksManager.
You can identify which sites are using LinksManager by the maroon chainlink graphic to the right of the site name. Those sites will offer your choice of categories to submit your link to.
