1. How does the Blacklist feature work?

You can choose to Blacklist a specific site or sites that match specific keywords.

Your blacklist is compared to the sitename, URL, description, and email address fields when another webmaster submits a new link to your account.

If a webmaster tries to submit a site that matches a blacklisted keyword in your account, they will receive an error message "Your Link Request was Denied" and the link will never enter your Approve/Delete database.

We recommend using keywords such as "domainname.com" or very specific keyword(s) to restrict sites from submitting links to your account.

NOTE: The blacklist affects links added from your "My Add Link Page" and semi-automated swaps from LinkPartners.Com.

Make sure to enter one keyword per line.

Example of how Blacklist can be used:

Let's say that xyzdomain.com keeps pestering you for a link and you have already declined their request for your own reasons on a number of occasions. If you are tired of the webmaster repeatedly submitting xyzdomain.com to your site, you can add xyzdomain.com to your blacklist and you will never have to deal with the abusive webmaster again.

This tool is best used to block one domain at a time. However, let's say you do NOT want to link with any site that contains the keywords "basket weaving". In this case, you could enter the keyphase "basket weaving" (without the quotes) into your Blacklist and if a site uses this keyphrase in their link details, it would be denied.

So we urge you to be careful with this tool. It is very effective when used properly. You would not want to accidently place very mainstream words in this list because that would produce denials more frequently.

Test the Blacklist by adding keywords then add a link to your site using that keyword to see how LinksManager responds.

You can remove keywords from your Blacklist at any time from your account.
