1. Can I remind a Pending Link how to reciprocate my link?

Yes. The Reciprocal Link Reminder Email (RLRE)is the mailer assigned to this task. You can customize the RLRE as needed.

You can remind a site to link back to your site by sending this mailer once a week. Due to security and anti-spam policies, the RLRE can only be sent every 5 days.

2. How do I approve my first new link?

To approve a submitted link, click Approve or Delete Pending Links from your Control Panel. All of the Pending Links listed here were requested from other webmasters.

To approve or delete pending links, click on the website name of the link. This will open up the detailed view of the links information. From there, scroll to the bottom of the controls to the 'Actions' select box. Select 'Approve this listing' and then click on 'Submit'. The link will automatically be added to your links pages and the Link Approved Email will go out to the webmaster letting him know that you approved the link.

Link approvals must be processed one link at a time to reduce the possibility of abuse. The LinksManager control panel is optimized for speed and looking at each link one at a time is not hindering in any way making it easy to approve links quickly.

By approving each link one at a time, this design facilitates thoughtful and relevant linking.

We encourage you to check the link details for each link that you approve to be sure that the link partner has entered a proper sitename, a concise description and that they have chosen the proper category to be included in. The only way to be sure that the information is appropriate is to view each links detail before approving the link. You can make any necessary changes to the information if needed when you approve (or delete) each pending link request.

3. What is the difference between an Active Link and a Pending Link?

Pending Links are links submitted by a webmaster through your Add Link page. All links submitted by the webmaster go to the Pending Links queue where they await your approval or deletion. This keeps you in control of your account. LinksManager cannot be used to manage a free-for-all links page due to this design.

After you approve a Pending Link, it is moved to the Active Links list and it is published in your links pages.

Note: Links that are added to your account through Quick Add or Import Links go directly to your Active Links list.

6. I approved a Pending Link, but I don't see it on my links pages. Where is it?

If your links pages are only hosted by LinksManager at http://linksmanager.com/youraccountid, refresh your web browser to view the newly approved link.

If you are using the FTP Upload Controls to host your links pages on your own web server, know that after about 10 minutes of inactivity on your account, LinksManager will upload the newly approved link to your web server.

7. How long should I wait to delete a pending link that is not reciprocating?

It is your decision how long you should wait before deleting a pending link that is not reciprocating. Some sites do not require link reciprocation and others do. Always keep in mind that some sites may not want to link with you. You will not want to link with every site who requests a link swap with you.

We suggest you give a site 2-3 weeks to reciprocate your link. If a site does not recirprocate within a week or so, you can send the Reciprocal Link Reminder Email (RLRE) to remind that webmaster to reciprocate. Due to security and anti-spam policies, the RLRE can only be sent every 5 days.

If after 3 weeks a webmaster does not link back, you can choose to let the link remain in the pending queue, you can approve the link without link reciprocation or you can delete the link. It's really up to how you want to manage your links.

8. How do I delete a CHANGE listing from the pending queue without deleting the current link listing in the active links?

The unapproved change listing is a separate record in your pending database. If you delete a CHANGE listing from your pending database and you delete it without sending Link Deleted Email, the listing is only removed from the pending database. The active listing in the active database remains untouched and does not change leaving the original link details intact.

You can test this in your account by submitting a test link, approve it, then submit a change listing. Do not approve it, delete it without sending the LDE and you will see the original listing remains on your links pages.
