- 1. What are LinksManager Email Notifications?
|
LinksManager uses its Email Notifications to automatically alert webmasters of the current status of their link. When specific events happen with your LinksManager account, certain emails are sent automatically on your behalf. These emails exist for pending links (links awaiting your approval, not visible in your links pages), active links (links already approved and visible in your links pages), and both pending and active links. All emails have default text. You may edit the email text to customize them for your individual needs.

- 2. Can I edit/ customize the messages sent in my LinksManager email notifications?
|
Every email notification in your LinksManager account is fully customizable. Simply click on Manage Email Notifications in the left control menu and then select the notification that you would like to customize.
LinksManager also provides you with variables that can be inserted anywhere in your email notifications in order to personalize a notification and/or provide webmasters with specific information. Make sure to include the open and close brackets when inserting variables into your notifications. Available variables include:
<yourname> - Displays the webmaster's name. <youremail> - Displays the webmaster's email address. <yourpw> - Displays the webmaster's password. <yoursitename>- Displays the name of the webmaster's website name. <yoururl> - Displays the webmaster's site URL. <yourdes> - Displays the webmaster's site description. <categories> - Displays the link categories the webmaster's link exists in. <linkid> - Displays the ID number of the webmaster's link. <wherelink> - Displays a URL that hyperlinks to a control page where the receiving webmaster can specify location of YOUR link on THEIR website. In many cases, including this variable in your RLRE and ARLRE will help resolve issues where the link checker is initially unable to find your link on a reciprocating site.
When an email is sent containing any one of these variables , LinksManager subsititutes each variable with the appropriate information.

- 3. Will LinksManager generate unique linking html code so that I can tell which links have sent me traffic?
|
LinksManager assigns a unique ID to each link added to your account. You can see the actual link ID of each link by visiting either the Approve or Delete links or Modify or Delete links page and looking at the ID column. The unique ID of a link can be displayed on the success screens, modify link screen, and emailers as well as used to create unique URLs.
Place the variable into text or a URL wherever you would like the unique ID for a link to be inserted. For example, you could tell webmasters to link back to you at:
http://yourdomain.com/affiliates/
and will be replaced with the id# for that link when the email is sent to the webmaster. Your log reports can then be programmed to filter on the affiliates directory and each link into your site will be unique for each referrer. You do not have to use the affiliates directory, this is just an example.
You can also place this link ID in your success text that is shown on the screen after the webmaster has submitted a link. This can be found in cosmetic controls, miscellanous controls, then locate "Link Submitted Successfully Page Top Text". You can also display the link id when the webmaster logs in to modify his listing. You can display banners for that webmaster with unique code. Just click cosmetics, modify link page, then scroll down and locate "View/Modify Link Page Text".
If you would like to see this in action, add a test link to http://gamblinglinks.com/lm/add_link.html. This gambling portal uses the id# feature in all of the screens and mailers. This will give you a good idea how it works for the webmaster.

- 4. Can I test LinksManager email notifications before they get sent out?
|
Yes - We encourage you to test all emails before they are sent.
To test your Email Notifications, first submit a new link as the webmaster. Act as the webmaster and visit your LinksManager powered links pages and click the link to add a new link. Use your own email address so that you will receive the email notifications.
After submitting a new link, send the Reciprocal Link Reminder Email. As the webmaster, read the Reciprocal Link Reminder Email when it arrives in your inbox.
Approve the link you submitted. Check your inbox for the Link Added Email.
Modify the link. Go to your links pages and click modify, then login to modify the link. Look for the Link Modified Email in your inbox.
Delete the link. Delete the active link you created and then read the Link Deleted Email when it arrives in your inbox.
You can make changes to all of the link notifications from your account Control Panel.

- 5. When are LinksManager email notifications sent?
|
The Link Submitted Email (LSE) is sent to all webmasters who add a new link to your site. This email lets the webmaster know that you received their request for their link to be added, and it allows you to automatically send the webmaster link code or any other information you want them to know about your site.
The Reciprocal Link Reminder Email (RLRE) reminds webmasters with pending links not yet approved to add a hyperlink or banner on their site that links back to your site. This email is sent to all of the webmasters with pending links who's sites are not linking back to you. Sites that are listed as NO for reciprocation will receive this email. Sites that are listed as YES for reciprocating will not receive the RLRE.
The Link Approved Email (LAE) is sent to a webmaster when you approve his or her link submission or link modification. This email lets the webmaster know that their link has been approved, and is now visible on your website's links pages. This is a good email to include instructions letting the webmaster know how to modify their link in the future.
The Active Reciprocal Link Reminder Email (ARLRE) reminds webmasters with approved links that currently have links on your site to add a hyperlink or banner on their site that links back to your site. This email is sent to all of the webmasters who's sites are not actively linking back to you.
The Link Modified Email (LME) is sent to all webmasters who modify their link on your site, regardless of whether the link is active (already approved) or pending (not yet approved). This email lets the webmaster know that you received their link modification.
The Link Deleted Email (LDE) is sent to webmasters from the Approve/Delete New Links control area. Every link has the option to send the LDE at the time you delete a listing. The LDE will let the webmaster know that his link has been deleted.

- 6. How do I remind webmasters added from LinkPartners.com to link back to my site?
|
Links added to your account from LinkPartners.com have hidden email addresses until they agree to reciprocate. This is for security reasons. One email is sent on your behalf when you add the link from LinkPartners.com.
We have serious privacy/SPAM concerns in protecting our LinkPartners and we cannot allow abuse of email addresses.
LinkPartners.com is now sending out a Master Reminder Mailer/Newsletter every 10 days to all webmasters listed in LinkPartners.com who have pending link swap requests. This mailer is sent to webmasters who are not reciprocating or who have not responded to requests to swap links from LinksManager users like you. The mailer reminds webmasters to reciprocate link swaps intiated by you and other LinksManager customers. This master mailer allows us to control contact so that abuse does not occur and all parties are satisfied.
