Call the scheme what you will -- full-duplex linking, link farming, automated link exchanging -- it will still be at or near the top of Google & Yahoo!'s enemy list.

Fact is, Google and the other major search engines are downright Victorian when it comes to promiscuous linking. They simply don't like the "put a paper bag on his/her face" approach to link lovemaking. They figure that if you don't care enough about the sites you're doing to look at them, why should they. To put it another way, Google and Yahoo! are very likely to downgrade sites containing a lot of one-night-stand, insignificant other-type links while rewarding sites whose pages contain a well-chosen selection of lifestyle-partner links.

Like those fraudulent "dating" sites that promise people seeking quick and sleazy thrills that they will "get la ... ah, better use the other L word ...
